We start with the set above, Recruit Edition. Much like the starter sets created for 8th edition and the recent updates to Age Of Sigmar, there is more and more “stuff” available to choose from which entry point you feel comfortable with.

The Recruit Edition gives you squads of troops for both sides and a leader to lead them into battle. You also get a small game mat, terrain (basic in the box), dice and a ruler. A booklet is also provided to help you get up and running with the game.

What Are You Guys Thinking About The New Starter Sets?

If you want something a little more exciting, check out the Elite Edition.

The Elite Edition gives you several more options to enhance and enhance your fearsome combat power. As you can see, it comes with pretty much the same options as the first set, but it also comes with a giant Necron monster to have some fun with the bike.

Finally, there’s also the Command Edition that takes things to the next level and will probably be an entry point for those familiar with Warhammer 40,000.

In this set, you get all the models in the Elite Edition, but with the addition of big, chunky plastic terrain that makes the tabletop look even better. You’ll also get a new rulebook and command booklet containing six missions that introduce the game’s concepts.

The New Warhammer 40k Starter Sets Release Today!

I can see this being a good entry point into the game for those new to Warhammer 40,000, as well as a way for existing wargamers to jump in and update their Necron or Space Marine armies. All miniatures included are still

So you can’t repeatedly get a sculpture of something you already own. Well, unless you buy Indomitus.

Bladeguard Veterans are missing from this starter set, but don’t worry. It will be coming out later this year in its own multi-part plastic kit.

It’s strange to think that some of the Primaris Space Marines are now veterans. I think they’ve been in the story for a few years already and the story has progressed quite a bit! It’s nice to see the design team returning to the “knightly” aesthetic of the Space Marines with many of the new releases, adding a little more personality from older battle-brothers into the mix. The Necron Force is equally unique and features many new sculpts. This set includes a giant new miniature called Skorpekh Lord.
