It is the only real-time global ranking of the world’s passports, updated frequently as new visa exemptions and changes are announced, Passport Index said.
In March, the Henley & Partners Visa Restrictions Index announced that Germany has the most powerful passport in the world.

The United States, meanwhile, continued its 10-year decline, dropping two more places to eighth. The country has seen the smallest increase in any score in the ranking over the past decade.
Afghanistan remains the weakest passport in the world, with visa-free access to only 27 destinations – 165 fewer than Singapore.

Two indicators show that high openness is not necessary for high visa-free access to countries. However, Singapore and South Korea – both relatively open – have moved up in the Passport Index, while the United States and Canada have moved down the index as their openness has stabilized.
