This solution works well for superficial scratches that barely scratch the clear coat of paint. Often, these surface-level scratches will collect dirt, making them look worse than they are. So regular, gentle washing with liquid detergent and a microfiber cloth should do the temporary trick.
Depending on the size of the scratch, add toothpaste to the microfiber cloth and clean the scratch in a circular motion. Make sure the toothpaste is a smooth paste (no small granules in it) to avoid further scratches during the cleaning process.
