Scratch all the other panels in the same way to make it look like it came from that.

A heat gun, alcohol and a Scotch-bright pad – if that doesn’t work, replace the panel. Don’t try to flirt!

Yes, unfortunately scratches on the dash don’t have to be too deep to be unrepairable. If you can’t get rid of them, you might just have to live with it. If it’s smooth plastic, you can tell it’s fine, but textured plastic is another story. If you put something down, you make the situation seem worse. If it’s a cheaply replaceable piece (unknown with this vehicle) that’s the only way to get it to go away.

You can try heating the area (heat gun) to help the scraps fuse better, but if you leave the heat on it too long and it melts the plastic around it, it can make it worse.

I have the same problem in my new GTI, same area. I also noticed very quickly. I’m not sure how it got there…someone with some jangly bits on their pants or brought a bag with a small metal bit to the car and put it in the glove box? Hmm, I like the crayon or sharpie idea — but be careful using isopop or any alcohol, as it can damage plastics like that. Used very sparingly, though, and washed off immediately, isoprop is probably the safest.

Not really. You can cover the entire panel, and if it’s close to the other interior panels, choose not to paint those, but just painting the scratch area won’t match, and there’s no way to remove the vinyl paint. Instead of being just a top coat, it penetrates into the vinyl.
