Next, rinse the surface with water, then take finer sandpaper (1000 grit or 1200 grit) and repeat the same process by rubbing the scratch in a circular motion until the surface is smooth. Finally, rinse with water and wipe with a clean cloth.

4. Lightly coat the repaired surface with polish and, if you have access to a low-speed buffing wheel, buff the surface to finish. Again, wipe the surface with a clean cloth when you’re done.

To prevent a crack from spreading, you’ll want to find the edges of the crack and drill tiny holes where needed with a 1/16″ or 1/8″ drill bit. Then take a 1200 grit sandpaper and sand it the same way. Apply equal pressure and rub it for 3-4 minutes. Small scratches will disappear. Then take a soft cloth and clean the residue left behind. The glass will not have any more scratches.
