Years ago I started making my own granite countertops which I absolutely love!! It’s easy to do and makes countertops shine.
It provides almost everything, except water pollution. The hard water on the granite was driving me nuts.
I first found a granite sink with a granite sink and faucet. When we wash our hands or do the dishes we leave behind a small drop of water.
After a while it led a large amount of water to the granite. I usually have a great trick for dealing with hard water, however, using vinegar on granite is a big no-no.

To start with I recommend you test your granite in a small inconspicuous spot before doing this to your hard water. I have used this trick for the past 3-4 years with no problems but every granite is different.
I first got the idea to use Bar Keepers Friends of William-Sonoma. Their website said it was good for removing water stains so I ordered a spray to see how it works.
Recently, my new tiles didn’t say they were safe for granite, however, I still use them since I’ve had them for so long. Just test it first before you drop the tile on your granite.

I recommend testing in a small area that you don’t see all the time. Close to the faucet is a good place to try.
You can see the bottom of my hard water. The granite was not very bright because of the paint covering it. I always seem to get water on the granite near my faucet.
Once you’ve measured your granite to make sure it won’t damage it, apply a small amount of the friendly protector on a microfiber cloth. Begin by lying on the water on the granite.

Make sure to remove all powder residue from the granite. Sometimes I like to use a little soap to remove all the bar friends from the granite.
Once you have removed all the powder from the granite use a dry microfiber cloth to dry the water.
If your water stain on your granite is very bad you may need to have it checked at least once. Just add a little bit more to your friends and leave it lightly for another 20 seconds or so.
Then, clean the microfiber cloth and wash it on the floor. When you clean it it should be bright and shiny again! Make sure to thoroughly rinse everything clean and dry the granite with a dry microfiber cloth.

Once you have removed the water stain from the granite you can spray your counter floor with a granite spray.

Make a paste of baking soda and water, or talc and a mixture of ammonia, bleach, or hydrogen peroxide. Use a mild detergent to clean the stain with the paste and rinse thoroughly.
If you notice that the water ring is sitting on top, you can resort to other methods of pain to try and remove it. For example, you can sharpen with a Brillo paper and erase with a razor.
If the stain is deep enough just applying the product to the surface of the granite will not be enough to drink it. However, using the right poultice and leaving it on for a few days can do the trick.
The chicken is prepared by mixing water, baking soda, and hydrogen peroxide. Your goal is to make it as thick as the palm oil.
How To Remove A Water Stain On Granite
Apply the poultice to the affected area ¼ to ½ inch deep. Extend this seam beyond the space leaving at least 1 inch. Cover with plastic and hold to seal.
After 24 hours, remove the plastic and let the poultice dry for another 24 hours. The drying process is what removes the stain from the stone and material.
Then, remove the poultice, rinse with water, and buff dry with a soft cloth. See how it has affected the site, it may take up to 5 applications to remove it successfully.
If household poultices aren’t enough to get rid of your stain, you can try a commercial granite poultice. However, chances are you’re dealing with deep waters that are deeply entrenched and impossible to get out of.
