To keep your Corian countertops looking stylish, you should clean and disinfect them regularly. For everyday dirt, use a wet sponge and a little dish soap to clean countertops. Once the surfaces are clean, use a soft cloth to dry them. For stubborn dirt, use an ammonia-based spray cleaner, then rinse the area with a clean, damp rag. We also recommend disinfecting countertops once or twice a week with a diluted mixture of 1 tablespoon bleach per gallon of water. Wet a rag with the solution and rub it in small circular motions. Allow the disinfectant to air dry, then use a soft cloth to dry the countertops. In addition to cleaning countertops, we recommend protecting them by using trivets or oven mitts under hot pots or pans. It’s also a good idea to place trivets under toasters and toaster ovens. Don’t forget to use a cutting board whenever you cut or slice food on the shelves so you don’t damage them. To learn how to remove scratches, stains and burns from your Corian countertops, read on! After discussing the dimensions of the worktop and the costs of repolishing the surface, a date for a visit was agreed.
To renew the Corian worktop, the first step was to pass the surface with a manual polisher equipped with an 800-grit resin disc. The water is used to keep the worktop moist in order to absorb the fine dust that is generated . The swab must be applied to the point where the scratches are removed and then to avoid creating shallow areas it is necessary to pass the swab over the entire surface bringing it to the same level.
The work surface is rinsed with water to remove the fine slurry that is generated, then the process is repeated with a 1200 grit disc followed by another rinse. At this point all scratches and cracks in the Corian should have disappeared, but the shiny appearance will have faded as a result.
To restore the shine to your worktop you need to polish it and for this we use Tile Doctor Diamond Polishing Pads available in a 6 inch diameter and a perfect size for use with the hand pad.
