Getting engaged is a great way to have a stress-free, meaningful wedding while ticking off some epic bucket list experiences.

After all, it’s about getting married in one of the most famous places in the world! From 2015 to 2015, you’ll get all the facts from an escape photographer in Northern Ireland. So how do you get away and have an unforgettable wedding in Northern Ireland? Let’s go swimming!

Irish Wedding Traditions (they’ll Love In 2023)

I understand, back in the day, that usually meant you two eloping and getting married in secret. Thanks to the development of escapes, we have all moved away from primitive thinking. Now, elopements can have the elements of a small, intimate wedding without the fuss of a traditional big celebration. Of course, in any case, you can bring just the two of you or a few people you like to share the joy with. Some of our couples actually decide to get married in secret, not because they don’t have permission like they used to, but because they want to experience their love in secret! However, most of them bring only a few loved ones to witness their I DO’s as they enjoy the beauty of our breathtaking island adventure together.

The bottom line is that escapism compliments your story the most and what feels right. No matter how you want to set it up, as an experienced photographer, I’m here to give you the full story!

Good news – it’s possible to get legally married while eloping in Northern Ireland! The epidemic was made even easier by the fact that you could marry anywhere outdoors with the permission of an official celebrant and landowner. If you’re looking for a unique and personalized ceremony, consider anthropomorphic rituals – they’re now legally recognized in 2018, so you can create a ceremony that’s perfectly suited to your love story. Want to incorporate your favorite movie quote or the Celtic tradition of hand fasting? Work for it! Be sure to check the legal requirements on the government website so you can tie the knot without any hassles

Want to skip all the stress? Then consider having a symbolic ceremony rather than a legal one. This way you can skip visa, witness and notification requirements and have a beautiful and meaningful ceremony. Additionally, you can ask a friend or family member to marry you or hire a celebrant to help you plan the perfect ceremony. And the best part? Don’t worry about losing your marriage license along the way. Trust me – we opted for a symbolic ceremony ourselves in 2018, and it was the best (and cheapest!) decision we’ve ever made. So don’t sweat it – getting away in Northern Ireland will be stress-free and absolutely beautiful.

Couple Make History With Northern Ireland’s First Same Sex Marriage

It’s no secret that you’re spoiled for choice when you come to this beautiful green island! in addition to the epic scenery, all those mountains, forests, valleys, cliff tops and beaches; You can choose from magnificent castles, ruins, temples, historical sites and much more! Honestly, here you will find something that will compliment anyone’s style. Additionally, Northern Ireland is so small that many epic sites are only a short drive away from each other. This means only one thing – adventure! You can tick off multiple bucket list locations in a day. And talk about a great honeymoon! Keep in mind that some locations may be more popular (and crowded) for a fee, but when you hire a local Northern Ireland Elopement Photographer, you get the insider knowledge of the best times to visit these locations. Plus, I know a lot of places that are off the tourist map, allowing you to focus on intimate, adventurous experiences.

Our favorite? Well, that’s easy, I like lesser known places. My top two are Dunsverick Castle and Kinbain Castle. Let’s be real for a second, if you don’t get caught in Dunluce Castle, is it really an escape from Ireland?!

Before you start planning, let me tell you the best time of year to get married in Northern Ireland. Spring and late autumn are the best seasons to escape here – the weather is mild, the sun sets at a good time (around 8pm) and, most importantly, it’s not crowded with tourists. This means you’ll have more privacy, freedom, and more time to see the sights, take beautiful, intimate photos, and enjoy dinner and celebrate after your ceremony without having to fight the crowds. Book early for the summer months, if summer is your choice then avoid peak summer and bank holidays. If not, plan your wedding day in the middle of the week – this is the best option for more intimacy.

If you want to take epic photos in Northern Ireland, plan for the best light! As a sunset photographer myself, I can tell you that the best photos are taken in the right lighting, so you should consider this when planning your ceremony. The sun sets around 3:30pm in winter and doesn’t set until 10pm in summer. So plan your ceremony 2-3 hours before sunset to make the most of the golden hour and get those amazing photos. I use a great sunset tracking app for my couples, so check it out here and plan accordingly. After all, you’ve come all this way – you deserve extraordinary photos for your story!

Wedding and elopement vendors are different because intimate celebrations have different requirements. I work with many amazing people who are ready to make your dreams come true and they all specialize in escapes. I can easily hook you up with them! From hairdressers and makeup artists to event planners and florists, I’ve got you covered.

There are many options for spending the night. There are usually hotels, Airbnbs, cottages, glamping sites, campsites, luxury homes, and even castles! In fact, when thinking about how to elope in Northern Ireland, I always recommend staying close to your ceremony location. As a photographer, it is important for me to keep the preparation moments bright and full of windows. Oh, and extra points if it has an unusual atmosphere! Trust me, there’s nothing worse than getting ready in a magnolia room with a single window and 90s curtains (if that’s not your vibe!). Of course, if you need help, I’m happy to help you find a great place to stay!

Northern Ireland is a gem for things to do, places to see, cultures to experience and great people to meet! After all, it’s been the filming location for many popular movies and TV series, including Game of Thrones, so you can bet there are plenty of sights to see! If you want to experience the atmosphere of the city, visit Belfast and experience the nightlife with great live music. And don’t forget the famous St. George’s Market. There are also lots of great activity ideas, such as tasting and touring the Bushmills Distillery or heading to Belfast to fully experience the new Borders Brewery.
