Apparently it’s pretty good, but I wanted to know if anyone else had experience with it.

Thanks for your contribution! The reason I choose the Chevron product is because the BMW product is a relabeled Chevron techron product and it is readily available here at a reasonable price.

I didn’t know I had to use one. Does this happen once a year or at a certain mileage?
You don’t actually have to use it, but I use a different grade of gasoline (since Husky 94 is the only true and solid 94 octane in Canada), so you might as well.
Use it every 3,000 miles for a maximum of two oil changes. Personally, I would only do this once before changing the oil as it will suspend a lot of debris in the oil, so I would like it to be flushed after use.
I use it when I fill up the last tank of fuel in my M2 before changing the oil every 5,000 miles.

This way, any garbage that the additive removes that gets into the oil will also be drained out.
I plan to do this as well. But I want to fill up the second tank of fresh gas later.
I just bought a bottle of fuel system cleaner from a local dealer. It no longer has the techron label on it, but there is a chevron logo on the bottom of the bottle and the instructions are still exactly the same as the techron. I poured the entire bottle as directed (a little more than 1 ounce per gallon, but that’s for motorcycles or vehicles with a small fuel tank, the motorcycle equivalent) and filled the tank with Husky 94 octane fuel. Once the tank is ready, I will run it through the regular gas tank and it will be time to change the oil.

Injectors Were Cleaned! Really?
OK guys, here are pictures of BMW’s new fuel system cleaning bottle, it still has the same part number, but there is no mention of techno, which is a bit strange. The chevron logo is still on the bottom of the bottle.
Not really, imo sulfur in gasoline in NA is relatively low due to strict government regulations, so it’s not really a big problem.
The problem arises if you don’t use top grade gasoline (although I don’t think that’s a problem since the government doesn’t recommend using enough detergents to make even these gases work properly) or ethanol-based fuels can cause the injectors to gum up (especially in areas with high humidity, where ethanol absorbs a lot of water). Another factor may be the use of high NOACK oils, causing large amounts of carbon to accumulate in the cylinders.
These factors shouldn’t be a big problem until you reach higher mileage, but I prefer to start treating these problems before they become really serious. For example, with carbon buildup, it’s better to start with thin carbon because once it becomes thick and settles heavily, there will be no easy way to remove it. I also want the fuel system to be clean and healthy.
Gasoline Fuel System
Just wanted to do a quick update. So far I have driven the car several hundred kilometers and there have been no problems with the fuel system cleaner, it has not caused the car to stumble or have any performance problems, and my gauges (MHD) have not shown any strange problems even after the car was left outside and the intercooler warmed up up to 65°C – no feedback, so it does not affect the octane number.
Anyway, I don’t feel much of a difference, but my car only has 8000km on it so it’s unlikely that there will be any heavy deposits in the fuel system or engine that will really reduce performance in any way that a cleaner might fuel system make a noticeable difference. However, I do this as a preventive measure to always keep the fuel system in tip-top shape, essentially targeting any deposits at small levels where they can be easily eliminated rather than waiting too long and causing the deposits to become so severe that fuel system cleaners won’t work had no effect.
It might be interesting to find out what this does to the other BMW I own: an e46 330ci with 181,000 miles. miles, 2002….
Yes, it would be nice to see if you notice anything, many higher mileage BMW owners say it’s night and day. Plus, it’s pretty cheap to buy, so why not.

Some say it should be used several tanks before changing the oil because product or burnt product will leach through the rings into the oil.
I use it from time to time when I remember, but I never notice a difference. I use a BG product, but it’s harder to find.

Yes, it is true that fuel system cleaner leaks through the piston rings into the oil. Therefore, they suggest not to use fuel system cleaner more than 2 times per oil change period.
Fuel Injector Cleaner Base Kit
You don’t need to use a full tank of regular fuel before changing the oil, just check the fuel tank with fuel system cleaner and fill it up before changing the oil. But if you want to be more careful like I do, go through the initial fuel tank with cleaner, refill and go through the regular fuel tank, refill, then go change the oil. It would be better to remove residual fuel system cleaner with multiple tanks, but imo this is not necessary because top grade gas such as Chevron has techrone in it, but at a more dilute level. So there’s really no need to go through more than 1 tank of regular gas.
The used oil was also analyzed using the BOBITG method after applying cleaning agents to the fuel system and the results were OK, no oil degradation. The oil did its job by retaining contaminants.
I use BMW fuel system cleaner because techron cannot be purchased here and the BMW dealer sells it to me for a really good price. Also because using certified BMW parts will not cause any warranty issues if something comes up, plus they are designed for our cars, unlike a lot of junk on the market. The only brands I know that really work are techron/bmw rebrand and redline. Other products on the market are either too diluted or too aggressive.
Nothing you add to fuel system cleaner will clean the valves because the fuel doesn’t spray there. It simply cleans the fuel injection system: tank, lpfp, hoses, hpfp and injectors, as well as the tops of the cylinders and pistons from deposits.
