Craigslist Truck Tires For Sale – A set of 15×7 alloy wheels from a 1991 FJ80 with 31×10.5r15 Goodyear Mud Terrain tires. Includes 4 original center caps in good condition. Lots of paths on the tires, but you have uneven wear on 2 of them.

Willing to include the factory spare, another matching wheel I believe (gives you a set of 5), but has an AT tire.

Yes it looks like some 3rd gens came with smaller calipers but I believe it’s only base models and mine is an sr5. I should have known by looking at my door sticker though.

OOFT, my door sticker has 15s though, I’m a little lower on funds than I thought I was. It’s been a bit of a fun past two weeks for me and I still have dinner in Texas de Brazil to pay for on Monday ><

Do a fit test and see but usually 15″ steel wheels grow sometimes if you have 16″ from the factory.

Aluminum wheels are usually too thick to retrofit without grinding and, yes maybe it’s just me but I don’t want to do that with brake calipers or rims. If the material didn’t need to be there Toyota would change the casting voids.

It is reliable to look at the number thrown into the calipers. S13WM is the 96-01 4Runner with 16″ wheels and S13WE if you had 15″ from the factory.

There are also spacers if you want to go to 15″ wheels. Also my $0.02 tire options are only 15″ getting better and 16″ is starting to be a little less popular compared to 17″ and 18 “. there probably wouldn’t be much effort or modification to go backwards at this point.

Many 3rd gen owners are complaining about weak brakes and they make Tundra calipers that usually require 17s. I know I now have 17” Tundra alloys from the PO. He mentioned those but nothing about brake upgrades, but I have 0 complaints about the trucks ability to stop even when slightly loaded. I should probably double check that before I buy any new wheels. With all the other PO surprises though, that was the most fun I’ve been into even if it means I can’t use wheels smaller than 17s.

Might that would be another solution, S13WL or maybe S13WG. Those are the Tundra calipers with 231mm pistons. If the calipers are S13WL and the rotors are thicker then there is no way a 15″ rim will work. It’s hit or miss on 16″ as well. If you have a Tundra brake upgrade make sure you check your spare since 16″ stock spares sometimes don’t work.

I’ll chime in as I have 15 wheels on the Stout which is on the 3rd gen 4runner chassis, which I happened to buy from @scheefdog. The 3rd gen donor was the base 4cyl model and had the original 16″ steel wheels, but the spare was 15″. I wanted to put 40 series wheels on the Stout and assumed the 15″ would fit. Well, even though I had bought a welded 40 series wheel, I had to take a grinder to about 1/8″ diameter the small ribs of the calipers. IMHO more work than it’s worth for something that can be achieved more safely.

Many 3rd gens that came with 16″ wheels had door stickers that indicated 15″ wheels – both my brother’s and my ’98 have door stickers. So, the door sticker is not an indication that 15 wheels will fit. Both trucks have the so called ‘bigger brakes’ and are thought not to fit 15 wheels.

Also unheard of on 89-95 pickup to get tire info for 235/75R15 when your truck was delivered with 31×10.50×15. In those cases, the gearing was even changed to 4.56 from 4.10 so the build plate axle code might not be correct. It might get a second sticker. Or maybe not.

Never a bad idea to verify what you really have. I think there are 12 regional Toyota ports now and what you might get can vary depending on how it was ordered and where it comes from. The aftermarket throws a spare in the works because the regions vary greatly and someone moving from Florida might end up with a truck with a very different option than someone moving from Nebraska, California or Texas. It’s even more interesting when you consider that a 4Runner or Cruiser still built in Japan has to physically come through a port and then into distribution ports alongside domestically built trucks like a Tundra or Tacoma. The port of import may or may not be the same as the port of distribution.

I should probably be specific with my starting job including mini truck or 4runner years. I was assuming a 1st or 2nd gen 4runner as they are vintage like the wheels.

I know these wheels will fit 79-95 Toyota 4×4 pickups and 84-95 4runners. They will also fit 91-92 FJ80. They will not fit the 93-97 FZJ80 with rear disc brakes.

Not to mess with the sale, but there is a difference between the Land Cruiser and the 4runner/mini truck rims:

Stock wheels with the following markings: 15x7JJ(10) They look exactly like the first gen wheels but have a different offset. Just wondered if they would fit. Thank you.
