Amex Platinum Upgrade From Gold – This huge 140,000 Amex point offer to upgrade to the Amex Business Platinum card is a target – and I’m finally a target! Check if you have more!
For a while now, I’ve been seeing people getting targeted offers to upgrade their American Express cards, and each time I can’t come up with anything. Until this week! Logging into my account, I saw a whopping 140,000 American Express Membership Rewards points up for renewal! Upgrade offer for Amex Platinum Business – 140,000 points
Amex Platinum Upgrade From Gold
Thanks to American Express’ public “once-in-a-lifetime” language for its card offers, we’re all done with Amex sign-up bonuses — for a while! However, upgrade offers are really great because they allow you to get cards you already have – and get an upgrade bonus along with it.
American Express (amex) Platinum Credit Card Status Match
In the past, Hilton cards could be upgraded, downgraded, upgraded (and over) and earned great rewards. And I did it! Until death. 🙁 However, this is the best upgrade offer I’ve ever had – getting 140,000 Amex Membership Rewards points to upgrade to American Express Business Platinum!
The American Express Business Platinum is a card I haven’t had in years that has an annual fee (
) and less valuable from year to year. However, there are some great things that come with it, such as using Amex points through Amex Travel and getting 35% back on points used, Centurion Lounge access, a $200 annual credit for airline events, and more.
I saw this update offer from Milerpost last month – and it wasn’t aimed at. I didn’t think twice about it until I logged into my American Express account this week and saw this great news:
Amex Gold Card Vs. Delta Platinum Card [2023 Comparison]
This upgrade offer is currently available until January 31st, 2023, so you still have time to target! The absolute best time to get the card is late December, because then you can get a random $200 airline credit in December 2022, next year, and early January 2024, before you have to pay the second annual fee.
However, with big purchases coming up for us, it was better to hold off on the update for now. Also, I didn’t want it to disappear. 🙂
You need to spend $10,000 within 3 months to get 140,000 Amex points. You will also be charged a prorated annual fee based on when the Amex Business Gold annual fee is due. Remember, this annual fee does not count towards your expenses.
So by the end of the year, we’ll have another 140,000 Membership Rewards points in our account! The timing is perfect because we booked 7 business class tickets between Europe and the US and maxed out our account.
Amex Expands ‘pay It Plan It’ To Green, Gold And Platinum Cards
Interestingly, the open offer for American Express Business Platinum is only 120,000 points and has an annual fee of $695. I get 140,000 points to renew this card and only pay an annual fee of $595!

Amex’s Massive Intro Bonus Offers On Gold And Platinum
One of the most common questions we get at TPG is whether it makes sense to upgrade a credit card.
There are some very important things to consider before diving in and out of the world of card products. Today we take a closer look at two of American Express’ most popular cards: The Platinum Card® and American Express® Gold Card from American Express.
Specifically, we understand the value of upgrading from the $250/year Amex Gold (see rates and fees) to the higher rate $695 Amex Platinum (see rates and fees).
Of course, this is a significant jump in annual fees, but with it comes many premium bonuses and benefits. Although Amex Gold and Platinum are quite different, they are a common upgrade within the Amex ecosystem.

Before we get into the reasons why you might want to upgrade from Amex Gold to Platinum, let’s first find out how to upgrade.
Amex Platinum (usa) Adds Hertz President’s Circle Status.
First, you may have an upgrade offer directly from Amex to move from a Gold card to a Platinum card. And if so, then it makes sense to use it. However, if you’ve never had Amex Platinum, you can skip this offer. Here’s why.
American Express has a one-time bonus limit on the card, which means you only get one chance to earn the welcome bonus for each Amex product. If you choose to upgrade using a bonus offer, you will never receive the bonus for Amex Platinum in the future.
The current welcome bonus for Amex Platinum is 80,000 Membership Rewards points after you spend $8,000 in purchases within the first six months of card membership. Amex Membership Rewards points are worth 2 cents each, making an 80,000-point bonus worth $1,600, according to TPG’s monthly estimates. This card’s annual fee is more than double the $695.
Amex Gold is ideal for spending at restaurants and US supermarkets, but it doesn’t offer some advanced travel perks like airport lounge access.
How To Get Marriott Gold Status From The Amex Platinum Card
Amex Platinum opens the door to the best airport lounges in the US, Amex’s Centurion Lounges. Amex spent a lot of money building these properties and they are worth every penny, with food menus from award-winning local chefs and top-shelf cocktails at every location.
If you’re in a city that doesn’t have a Centurion Lounge, you may have other options, as the Amex Platinum also comes with a free Priority Pass membership that gives you access to more than 1,400 lounges worldwide. In addition, you have access to the Airspace and Escape lounges. When you fly with Delta on the same day, you get access to the Delta Sky Club.
It’s not just about airport lounges. Amex Platinum also has some elite-like benefits with hotels and rental cars — which you won’t find with Amex Gold.
