Both the American Express Platinum Card® (Review) and the American Express Business Platinum Card® (Review) offer a variety of useful benefits that can be almost difficult to keep track of.

Just have the Amex Platinum Card and enjoy car rental benefits from three major car rental companies: Avis, Hertz, and National (registration required). Please note that this applies to both personal and business versions of the card, and authorized users are eligible as well. Amex Platinum Cardholders Can Now Get Hertz President’s Circle Status
Renting a car can be very frustrating, but we had a lot of fun renting a car at National. Executive status is great and makes the entire rental experience much more comfortable. Not only does National usually have a decent selection of cars, but you can choose your own in many locations, and there’s virtually no paperwork involved.
If you haven’t tried National, I would. Amex Platinum status helps make it as comfortable as possible. Alternatively, I think both Hertz and Avis are pretty decent given their stats.
