33 Inch Tires For Jeep Wrangler – New members have arrived. Does anyone know what my wrangler would look like if I kept the 33 and installed a 2.5 inch lift kit? I know the 35s would look better, but I recently traded in 33s so didn’t want to replace them with brand new ones.

Click to expand… This is the JLUR after I installed a 2″ Mopar lift on the stock rims. Out of the crate, the lift gave me about 2.5″-2.75″ inches of height. Over time, It will lower a bit once it settles in. Your fender gaps will be smaller than mine because I have “thinner” Rubi fenders.

Pdavis29 said: Thanks for sharing, now my question is, my JLU is a SPORT and yours is a Rubicon, is there a difference? what do you think. Click to expand… Yes, there will be a slight difference in apparent clearance between the fenders and tires. The fenders on Rubicons are “higher clearance” fenders, which means there’s more room to move between the fender and the tire to allow for extra wheel travel in situations like off-roading. Your sport fenders are actually closer to the tires, so you won’t see your fender gaps as big as mine in my photos.

I have 275/60r20 Falkens on hand and I feel like they have gotten smaller over time. Ha ha. The slight extra width and height really enhances them. My concern is the weight of the rear carrier. The Nitto website says these ridge grabbers weigh 61 pounds. I read somewhere that the stock 20 inch wheels were 40. The weight limit claims a maximum spare carrier weight of 85 pounds. Did you encounter any problems? Squeak? shake? etc?

When I first installed the new tires, there was 2 inches of space from the spare tire to the rear bumper. After re-measurement today, it still has the same space, and daily driving on the road and highway with the spare parts has been no problem.
