Yes, that setting is fine. Spacers larger than 1 inch will cause the tire to rub a little when rotating at 225/65R17 (about 3/4 of a turn).

Play around with Tirerack.com and you’ll see what mediocre options are available in factory sizes. There are several ways to achieve aggressive tread other than snow-specific tires.

Answer to my own question: After perusing online tire/wheel size calculators, if the OEM tire size is 215/65/17, both 225/65/17 and 225/60/17 will fit. However, 225.60/17 is not compatible. 225/65/17 (displays lower than actual speed) has less impact on the speedometer (displays higher than actual speed).

First post here. Today I installed the Hankook Dynapro All Terrain 225/ 70 16 on my latitude. There are no lifts or spacers. That’s all. The tires fill the wheels much better than the stock 215/65 16’s.

It won’t rub off. From all the reading I did I found it to be the perfect size. I’ve put about 75 miles on them so far and have had no problems at all. It’s surprisingly quiet on the highway and noisy at low speeds, which I really like.

That’s a great looking tire. I play sports and was looking for just the right tires. I hope you found it for me/ Thx lol

Welcome. I’ve spent months reading posts here and using tire calculators to find the right size. I know it’s not a Wrangler, with more aggressive treads to give it a more “Jeep feel”, but I absolutely agree. I love this Jeep!!

I got the same bfg KO2. No problems so far, but he’s only had it on for 2 days so far

I installed his 225/65-17 K02 on my wife’s Trailhawk and it didn’t rub and had plenty of room. I also installed Renegade Ready spacers. I blacked out the silver on the wheels and am very happy with that as well. Visually he has improved 100%. You should have it in stock with this setup.

Wouldn’t installing a sturdier, heavier ko2 put a strain on the transmission? I love these tires and was considering them for my Hawk, but I don’t want to pay the extra tax.

I don’t think they made the transmission and drive components so weak that a 10+ pound tire would damage anything. I could be completely wrong, but that’s my opinion.

Factory SRA Goodyear tires are 28 lbs. Remember that the vehicle was designed with this tire. Yoko ATS is a 31 pound tire. Having a higher H rating than his S rating makes a big difference in the tire’s responsiveness, flex, and comfort factor. The BFG is an 8-ply D 39-pound load tire.
